About Me!

I’m Natalie Ward, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and EMDR Certified therapist providing virtual therapy to teens (12+) and adults throughout Jacksonville and across Florida. My work focuses on helping high-functioning, motivated individuals who look like they’re holding it all together on the outside — but internally feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in survival mode.

I earned my Master’s Degree in Psychology in South Florida and began my career in community mental health before expanding into group practice and now private practice. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, PTSD, chronic stress, OCD, ADHD, and nervous system dysregulation. These experiences have shaped my clinical approach to be both evidence-based, trauma-informed and deeply human.

Who I Work Best With

I specialize in working with high-functioning, motivated teens and adults who often appear capable on the outside but feel overwhelmed internally. Many of my clients are navigating high-functioning anxiety, trauma, chronic stress, or nervous system dysregulation and are ready for deeper, evidence-based support.

My Therapeutic Approach

My work is grounded in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Informed Care. EMDR therapy helps the brain and nervous system reprocess distressing experiences so triggers feel less intense and emotional responses become more regulated over time.

In our work together, we move at a thoughtful, individualized pace. Early sessions focus on building safety, trust, and nervous system stabilization before moving into deeper trauma processing when appropriate. My goal is not just short-term coping, but meaningful and lasting change.

We are not defined by what we’ve experienced. Through EMDR and trauma-focused work, we help your brain and nervous system recognize that you are safe now — allowing you can move forward with greater clarity and regulation.

What You Can Expect in Therapy

At the heart of my work is this belief: therapy should feel safe, empowering, and deeply human. It should be a space where you can be honest without judgment, explore without pressure, and discover new parts of yourself at your own pace.

While healing is meaningful work, it does not have to feel heavy in every moment. Growth can include insight, relief, moments of lightness, and renewed hope. My role is to provide a structured, compassionate space where you feel supported, understood, and genuinely cared for.
